Call for Special Sessions Proposals

IEEE ICA / ACCA 2018 technical program will include a series of Special Sessions. They will complement the regular program of the conference by featuring new, emerging or very specific topics that can be of particular interest for the practitioners and experts expected to attend IEEE ICA / ACCA 2018. Special Sessions subjects may also cut across and beyond disciplines traditionally represented at IEEE ICA / ACCA.

Each Special Session proposal may comprise at least 5 presentations and a maximum of 10. Prospective organizers of Special Sessions should submit proposals delivering the following information:

  • Topic Title (10 words maximum)
  • Organizers Names, Emails, Affiliations. One of the organizers must be named as the Special Session chair.
  • Session rationale and outline (approx. 500 words); the rationale should stress the novelty of the topic and/or its multidisciplinary features (if any).
  • Number of expected papers.
  • Any other contribution provided by the Special Session organizers to IEEE ICA / ACCA 2018, such as proposed invited speakers, tutorials, etc.

Proposals will be evaluated based on the timeliness of the topic, the qualifications of organizers, number of expected papers, and other contributions to the conference.

After Special Session proposals are approved, manuscripts may be submitted to the special sessions and should conform to the formatting and electronic submission guidelines of regular IEEE ICA / ACCA 2018 papers. The Special Session chair will be added to the EasyChair system, and will be in charge of the reviewing process of the papers submitted to that Special Session. Special Session papersl will undergo the same review process as Regular papers, and will be submitted to IEEEXplore as a part of the conference proceedings.

Please provide all the information requested above when preparing your Special Session proposal. The Special Sessions proposals must be submitted by Email in PDF format  (no specific format is required) to crduran@ubiobio.cl, by April 29th, 2018 at the latest.

Special Sessions chairs that successfully accomplish the organization of their proposals, by sending the list of accepted papers to be presented by following the same reviewing procedure than the regular papers of IEEE ICA / ACCA 2018, will be granted with a special free-of-charge registration which can be associated to one paper to present at the conference (one register per Special Session).
